The Master of Engineering with Management is a taught programme that combines theory and practice in the fields of design, construction, and management. Studio-based practical design projects will be subjected to peer review and a critique jury, guaranteeing that you will get consistent feedback on your developing work. You will be tasked as an engineer in training, expected to collate data, interpret findings, and engage with clients on a professional basis. You will be introduced to the significance of buildings and infrastructure as a major component of the capital assets of an entity and you will learn to manage strategic construction projects in the context of interested stake-holders.
The M.Eng. degree programme in Engineering with Management will be the second-tier qualification that will prepare you for an EU accredited warrant to pursue a career as a Civil/Structural Engineer. The course structure conforms to the Bologna Process, as the 2-year Master degree Programmes are informed by the requirements of Europe-wide engineering associations, so as to facilitate accreditation, for example for the title of European Engineer (Eur.Ing). The programme is designed to have at least 50% of its content covering engineering subjects, at least 20% covering basic sciences, (including mathematics, numerical analysis, statistics etc.), and at least 10% of the course covering non-technical subjects, (including management, and environment). In the final year of your studies, your taught and research knowledge will culminate into a Masters level Dissertation, where your formidable individual and independent research skills will be implemented.
